Hostel Kit List:

Hostel Weekends are a great introduction to weekends away with LargeOutdoors with the biggest benefit being that most of the kit you will need for your acccomodation is provided. i.e you don’t need to purchase a tent.

Please note that not all hostels operate the same so please check the event details for any specific requirements. You will also need to bring the requirred kit  for whatever activity you plan to take part in during the weekend.

The majority of the hostels we use provide basic bedding of a duvet, pillow and over sheet, however some members bring there own sleeping bags or even there own pillows and duvets. If bedding is not supplied then it will state this in the event details and you will be responsible for bringing your own kit.

Unlike camping most of our hostels are catered and so you will not be required to supply any cooking utensils or stoves etc.

You will need to bring a torch as most hostels are in remote areas and we often do outdoor night activities. It is also good etiquite whilst in the hostel to use your torch if people are asleep in the room.

You will then need personal kit that you would take with you for a weekend so toiletries, a towel as these are not provided maybe some comfy clothes to lounge around in and nightwear.

What should you take to a hostel weekend?

  • Torch
  • Toiletries
  • Towel
  • Comfy Clothes
  • Slippers or indoor shoes

Suggested Kit:

  • Ear Plugs
  • Bedding, please check the event listing as some hostels supply bedding and on some events you will need to bring your own.

Nightwear:
One of the most common questions leaders get asked is what to wear at night. The simple answer is as little or as much as you want whilst in bed. However, please bear in mind that you may well be sharing rooms and often the bathrooms are not en suite so you will need to walk around the corridors. Obviously in this situation you need to be covered up and dressed appropriately.
