The Objectives of LargeOutdoors:
- to facilitate the participation of individuals and organisations in activities and events in the outdoors to improve their quality of life, build social confidence and independence, and develop healthy lifestyles
- to provide advice, education and training to individuals and organisations who wish to engage in outdoors activity, including the provision of Nationally recognised Outdoor and First Aid skills
- to specifically target people who are often excluded from outdoors activity due to health, social or disability issues e.g. individuals with HIV, deaf and disabled people, the elderly, sex workers
- to empower people to become independent in their pursuit of an active and healthy lifestyle, by means of training, advice and practical learning
- to encourage the understanding and appreciation of the outdoors including wildlife, heritage, natural history and geology
- to work with public sector, community and charitable bodies to provide high quality activity and events for their members and stakeholders who wish to experience the outdoors
