Well we think this is going to be a belter, combining walking along the delightful Pembrokeshire coast with a bit of a party with a group who will, by the time New Year’s Eve comes round, be firm friends.
For four nights we stay in the fantastic surroundings of Pwll Deri – think cliff top setting with floor to ceiling windows offering ringside views across the seascape.
Pembrokeshire’s coastline is a tonic in itself. Strolling along one of the umpteen gentle routes we have planned will be one of those life-affirming moments.
As you look out at the rugged coastal landscape and the sheer beauty of it all the impossible will suddenly seem possible, and those protracted ‘going to do’s’ will suddenly take on a new level of importance.
In a nutshell:
- Succumb to the re-energizing magic of Pembrokeshire’s coastline.
- Bounce into the New Year knowing you’ve made new mates who enjoy the outdoors as much as you do.
- Marvel at the five course dinner we have planned for New Year’s Eve!
This New Year break is our smaller more chilled trip, although we will be enjoying a celebratory New Year’s Eve dinner and drinks, this trip will be a smaller group and the aim will be to enjoy the walking and surroundings over partying late into the night. For the more party orientated trip please take a look at our New Year’s Eve in the Lake District.

Arrive – 30th December
As you pull up outside Pwll Deri, you’ll immediately feel the airiness of our cliff top location but worry yee not as inside it will be as toasty as a toaster, complete with open fire.
With a glass of mulled wine and a slice of cake plunged into your hands as soon as you walk through the door and a chance to mingle with the other guests the cosy atmosphere will be complete.
You are welcome to arrive any time after 5pm and after we’ve made the introductions and helped settle you in, we deftly rustle up the evening meal.
After a good, hearty breakfast we plan two walk options for each of these days.
Some walks might involve a short drive to explore areas further along the coast but each walk option will cater for groups who want an enjoyable easy amble as well as those who want a tad more challenging day’s hiking.
Whichever option you choose expect a grand mix of scenery – from lofty cliff tops to sandy bays, Iron Age hill forts through to Neolithic standing stones, lighthouses to wildlife.
On New Year’s Eve we leave enough time to get back and prepare for the evening ahead. For us, this means scuttling into the kitchen earlier so we can prepare the five-course feast and drinks.
For you it can be a time to sink into one of the comfy sofas in the living room with a good book in-hand or eyes fixed on the mesmerising seas below.
Dress code: relaxed (feel free to dress up but equally you can stay in comfy gear as well).
1st – 2nd January
Today we have a leisurely start and walk together as one group – the pace will be gentle which might suit those of you nursing a bit of a sore head – with plenty of view stops to make the most of our surroundings.
We then have one final hurrah of an evening meal at Pwll Deri, no doubt fuelled by tales of the previous days’ antics.
This morning we venture out for one final short walk before driving to a pub for lunch. From there alas we have to say our goodbyes or rather a ‘see you soon’ as many will be hatching plans for a return visit or similar escapade.
Please note on most days there will likely be a short drive to the start of the walks, we don’t include transport and people normally car share.

What our members have to say...
Well, for a non-walker it was certainly challenging but my word was it exhilarating! The feeling of achievement after every day, was just fabulous. The group we went with were all strangers on day one, but firm friends by the end of the week. The comradery on some of the tougher walks, helped me to the top…..and wow what views. Anyone thinking of doing it - don’t worry….just go for it!ClaireMember Since 2016
“I didn’t really know what to expect on my first ever walking holiday and wasn’t very prepared if truth be known – lesson to all read the essential kit list especially waterproofs! It was great fun and what a lovely group of supportive and encouraging people, especially Gareth who did a great job looking after us all. I must admit at times I found it a bit challenging but what a great sense of achievement when we reached the top of the mountains (hills) I will definitely do this again.ElizabethMember Since 2016
My first Large Outdoors and (Ulster & the Giant's Causeway Walking Weekend) Irish experience was absolutely fantastic. Everything was organised perfectly and Gareth is a joy to be around. I loved every minute and will definitely book myself onto another trip. #toldallmyfriendstheyhavetocomeVanessaMember Since 2018
