Suggested Itinerary

Here’s what we’ve got planned - of course, we may have to offer alternatives or make amendments if the weather misbehaves or other unexpected situations arise!

Day 1 - Arrival & Welcome

Arrive at your seafront hotel from 15:00 and settle into your room. The Premier Inn Swansea Waterfront puts you right in the heart of the action, with the marina and numerous restaurants all within easy walking distance. If you're arriving by train, it's just a pleasant 15-minute stroll to the hotel.

Your friendly host will meet everyone in the hotel bar from 18:00, where you'll get to know your fellow walkers over drinks. Evening meals are not included, giving you the freedom to explore Swansea's excellent restaurant scene at your own pace.

Day 2 - Rhossili Bay & Llangenith Beach

8 Miles

After a hearty all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast, we'll head to the western tip of the Gower Peninsula for our first coastal adventure. This spectacular walk takes you along Rhossili Bay, consistently rated as one of the world's finest beaches, with its sweeping arc of golden sand backed by towering cliffs.

We'll explore Rhossili Down, the highest point on the Gower Peninsula, where you'll discover ancient burial chambers and enjoy panoramic views across the Bristol Channel. The down is home to wild ponies that graze freely across the heathland. At Llangenith Beach, we'll explore this quieter northern end of Rhossili Bay, popular with surfers and home to one of the Gower's most charming villages.

Day 3 - Northern Gower: Llanmadoc Hill, Burry Holms & Broughton Bay

8 Miles

Today we explore the much quieter northern coast of the Gower Peninsula. We'll start from the picturesque village of Llanmadoc, climbing gently up Llanmadoc Hill for stunning views across the Burry Inlet and the distant Brecon Beacons.

We'll descend to explore Burry Holms, a fascinating tidal island accessible at low tide via a rocky causeway. This small island holds remarkable historical significance, with evidence of occupation from the Iron Age through to medieval times. Broughton Bay provides a perfect contrast with its expansive mudflats and salt marshes - one of the best birdwatching locations on the Gower Peninsula.

Day 4 - Oxwich Bay & Three Cliffs Bay

6 Miles

Our final morning takes us to two of the Gower Peninsula's most photographed locations. We'll start at Oxwich Bay, where ancient woodlands meet pristine sandy beaches, before heading to Three Cliffs Bay - arguably the most iconic view on the entire Gower Peninsula. The three distinctive limestone pillars rising from golden sand create one of the most photographed scenes in Wales.

We'll explore the medieval ruins of Pennard Castle, dramatically positioned on the clifftop overlooking the bay. After our final group lunch, we'll provide transport back to Swansea train station for departures around 15:00-16:00.
