Why Walk the West Highland Way with Large Outdoors?

The West Highland Way is one of the UK’s most iconic long-distance walking routes, stretching from the edge of Glasgow into the Scottish Highlands and finishing in Fort William beneath Ben Nevis.

Over seven walking days you’ll experience constantly changing scenery, from woodland trails and loch shores to remote glens and open Highland landscapes. Although it’s a challenging journey, much of the route follows valleys, tracks and established trails rather than mountain terrain, making it achievable for regular walkers with good fitness and preparation.

Walking with Large Outdoors means you’ll be part of a small supportive group, with experienced guides taking care of the route planning, navigation and day-to-day logistics. Baggage transfers mean you only need to carry your daily essentials, while the support vehicle offers added reassurance throughout the week.

For many people, completing the West Highland Way is a genuine bucket-list experience — and sharing the journey with others often becomes just as memorable as the walking itself.
