What People Say
“A lovely way to explore the Pembrokeshire coast without any of the hassle of planning. Friendly group, fantastic walks, and a really relaxed atmosphere throughout.”
Explore the Pembrokeshire Coast Path from St Davids
Pembrokeshire offers a completely different feel to many UK walking destinations. Life moves a little slower here, with quiet lanes, fishing harbours, cliff-top paths, and small coastal communities scattered along the shoreline.
St Davids itself may be Britain’s smallest city, but it has a lively atmosphere with independent cafés, galleries, pubs, and the impressive cathedral sitting at its heart. Throughout the trip we’ll explore different stretches of coastline, each with its own character — from wide sandy bays and rugged headlands to hidden coves and ancient sites overlooking the sea.
Wildlife is also a big part of the experience here. Depending on the season, you may spot seals, seabirds, dolphins, or porpoises along the coast, particularly around Ramsey Island and the more remote headlands.

Suggested Itinerary
Here’s what we’ve planned for your car-free walking weekend (subject to change due to weather or logistics)
-
You can either arrive directly at the hotel or join the included station collection from Haverfordwest at 14:30. After settling in, there’ll be time to relax before meeting the rest of the group in the hotel bar around 18:00.
We’ll then head out locally for dinner together, giving everyone the chance to get to know each other before the walking begins.
-
One of the highlights of the weekend is exploring the dramatic coastline around St Davids Head and Whitesands Bay. This area combines wide coastal views, rocky headlands, prehistoric remains, and excellent wildlife spotting opportunities.
Walking here feels wonderfully open, with sea views stretching towards Ramsey Island and beyond. Depending on conditions and the group, there may also be time to stop by the beach or enjoy a café break back in St Davids afterwards.
In the evening we’ll head out for another relaxed group meal locally.
-
Today’s route explores another beautiful stretch of the Pembrokeshire coastline around Porth Clais, St Nons, and Caerfai Bay.
This part of the coast has a slightly different feel, mixing sheltered inlets, colourful cliffs, maritime history, and wide views across St Brides Bay. There’s usually plenty of opportunity to pause for photos, wildlife spotting, and simply enjoying being by the sea.
Alternative routes may also be chosen depending on weather, group interests, and conditions, allowing flexibility throughout the weekend.
-
Before heading home we’ll enjoy a shorter final walk nearby, making the most of the coastline before returning towards Haverfordwest for approximately 16:00.
